Trend Micro Incorporated, a global cybersecurity leader, today announced it has been named a leader, in The Forrester Wave: Enterprise Email Security, Q2 2021 report. Trend Micro is a leader among the 15 evaluated vendors, scoring second highest in the Current Offering category and tying for the highest score in the Strategy category, two of the three main categories evaluated.

Email security is a key layer of security provided by Trend Micro’s cybersecurity platform. At the heart of the platform is Trend Micro Vision One, which delivers visibility and XDR for faster detection of attacks, using telemetry from email security in addition to the other components of the platform including endpoint, servers, cloud workload and networks.

The Forrester report assessed that “Trend Micro delivers advanced, integrated email security” noting that “Enterprises seeking an email security solution with strong endpoint integration (especially for Trend Micro-protected endpoints) and [incident response] capabilities should evaluate Trend Micro.”

“Email is a preferred and an evolving mode of communication in the enterprise world, more so with remote working coming into existence, dependency on email as a tool has increased. The analysis of our email security solution is pivotal to our overall offerings” said Dr. Moataz Bin Ali, Trend Micro, VP & Managing Director, Trend Micro Middle East & North Africa. “In 2020 alone, 91% of threats blocked by Trend Micro were email borne. This makes it even more critical for us to continue innovating and investing in areas of email security to better safeguard enterprises across the region, and beyond.”

Trend Micro delivers a layered approach to email security to protect against simple phishing and spam as well as advanced targeted attacks, using pre-execution machine learning, macro analysis, exploit detection, and dynamic sandbox analysis for files and URLs. At a cloud application layer, Trend Micro also offers unique AI-powered writing style DNA capabilities to better spot BEC attacks, and computer vision technology to recognize and block phishing URLs.

By Jim Morrissey, VP US Channels Document Technology Partners, Xerox Corporation

Cloud computing has been great news for customers, offering higher service levels at lower cost. Initially, many IT channel partners saw it as bad news for themselves, eliminating many hardware purchases and the service engagements attached to them, including installation, integration, maintenance, repair, support, training, and more.

Over time, partners have adjusted their businesses, adapting to the new realities created by cloud computing. Customers still require many of the services they have always engaged partners to provide, including data migration, user support, server and storage management, integration between various cloud services from multiple providers, security, regulatory compliance, data analytics, and more. If anything, cloud computing has encouraged some partners to vary their skills and provide new services.

Input and Output Require Endpoints

One issue which cannot be overlooked is the continuing need for hardware in the age of the cloud. Users still require endpoints through which to enter and retrieve information. While processing of that information may take place on servers resident in a cloud data center, the user still needs a computer, a tablet, a smartphone or some other device to interact with and process the information, and output devices to produce results from that processed information.

Print is the most robust category of output devices. If your customers need to print something, they have to have a printer. Along with those printers they’ll need supplies, and they will no longer have staff designated to keeping track of and replenishing those supplies. Being mechanical devices, printers require maintenance and repair.

Why cloud computing is as good for channel partners as it is for their customers

The Evolution of Print Solutions

Printing is now evolving, using automation to streamline workflows and producing a more complete product with less human intervention. Today’s printing solution delivers a robust finished product in full color, often bound and ready for delivery. It is no longer bound so much by the proximity of the user to the printer.

Even supplies have been redefined by the services used to track their consumption and provide timely replenishment. Users don’t think about supplies until they run out. An enterprising channel partner literally saves them from themselves in many instances.

Print automation has also progressed bringing a host of new possibilities through programming. Many channel partners now develop software solutions specifically for print environments. As with so many other segments of the IT environment, channel partners can choose to partner with these new providers to sell these solutions to their customers. They can also leverage this partnering while they themselves develop new capabilities.

Think and Sell Value

As print management has evolved, so has the channel. Where we once sold speeds and feeds, how fast the printer could produce results and how many different media and data sources could be integrated, we soon evolved to selling solutions to specific business challenges.

Today we recognize the underlying issue that customers have always been most concerned about. When they invest in any technology solution to any information management challenge, what they seek most is value. How much more value can they bring to the outcomes they obtain from each IT investment? How much can they reduce initial and ongoing operating costs?

Cloud has taught them that they can obtain higher service levels at lower cost. That’s what they expect now from everything they consume. Your challenge is to cloud-proof your endpoint business by adding the products, supplies, and services customers require to satisfy their ongoing need to print.

FireEye has announced new cloud and virtual form factors for its Endpoint Security solution. Available globally by early-Q3 2017, the new cloud and virtual offerings enable customers and partners additional flexibility for deployment and lower cost as they move to the cloud.

The pioneer of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), FireEye cloud and virtual Endpoint Security are part of major upgrades available for customers in 2017 – aimed at delivering an intelligence-led Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) that simplifies, integrates, and automates security.

Additional 2017 upgrades will include anti-virus (AV) replacement & remediation in Q3, behavior-based ransomware protection, Linux support for protection of all major computing platforms including macOS and Windows, continued investment in simplified security driven by the company’s decades of data science and artificial intelligence (AI) research and products.

“Every day we see endpoint security solutions with big tech buzzwords and more alerts failing our partners and customers as we respond to their breaches. By applying what we learn to our Endpoint Security, we can relentlessly protect our customers while simplifying their security operations,” said Kevin Mandia, CEO, FireEye.

“We started the year with a goal to protect our clients with the best next-generation endpoint platform in 2017; the addition of cloud and virtual offerings is a critical step towards that goal,” said John Laliberte, SVP of Engineering at FireEye.

“These new form factors enable our clients and partners to deliver the best intelligence-led endpoint security at scale while reducing costs and increasing deployment flexibility.”

For partners, the new form factors make delivering FireEye Endpoint faster and more efficient. Partners can immediately deploy FireEye endpoint with no hardware required, and provide options to host or virtually manage for customers. These new options drive down cost and complexity for new deployments and provide proven scalability from a global security vendor.

Additionally, with FireEye Helix, partners can simplify customers’ security operations with integrating endpoint, network, and 3rd party alerts into a unified view of the most dangerous threats in an environment. Helix can be managed by customers or partners, with FireEye providing scalable experts at the moment a customer should need additional expertise.
