Aruba, an HP Enterprise company, announces Aruba SD-WAN support and integration with Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) new AWS Cloud WAN, a cloud networking service introduced at AWS re:Invent. Aruba claimed, “this new solution will enable Aruba customers to use the policy-based framework of AWS Cloud WAN to create advanced WAN topologies with integrated network segmentation that aligns seamlessly with the Aruba SD-WAN fabric.” With this latest development, Aruba now supports a wide range of integrations with AWS.

Aruba’s integration with AWS Cloud WAN is believed to be providing large-scale support for cloud connectivity use cases that extend LAN/WAN network segmentation and traffic isolation from the edge to and through the AWS global backbone network.

According to Aruba, the benefits of LAN/WAN segmentation with AWS Cloud WAN include:

Improved network security from edge to cloud: Easily segmenting users, devices, applications, and WAN services into secure end-to-end zones in compliance with predefined security policies, regulatory mandates, and business intent provides consistent security policies and automated enforcement across the enterprise.

Faster spin-up of new branch sites and Cloud VPCs: The integrated solution, combined with the new “one-click” EdgeConnect VPC instantiation, automates network deployments, removing the complexity associated with manual, step-by-step configuration of the SD-WAN (IPSec tunnels, segmentation, route tables, and VRFs) with the common AWS Core Network Policy, which can be time-consuming and error-prone.

“This latest integration with AWS Cloud WAN changes the game for enterprises looking to maximize flexibility and reduce operational complexity while strengthening security posture within their cloud-centric WAN deployments,” said David Hughes, chief product and technology officer at Aruba.

Organizations can now extend policy-based network segmentation from the branch edge – which spans the campus, branch, microbranch, and remote worker solutions – into the AWS global network. Aruba Orchestrator also supports automated “one-click” deployment of EdgeConnect SD-WAN instances directly into AWS VPC’s.

To help accelerate digital transformation, Hewlett Packard Enterprise hosted Reimagine 2017, a day-long event to discuss and address the growing needs of market leaders in Saudi Arabia to leverage opportunities and demonstrate agility in implementing innovation in Information Technology.

Held at Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh, the event presented solutions such as Hybrid IT, Intelligent Edge and Transformation Services, linking back to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 that promotes the development of a strong digital infrastructure to support growing industries.

The event was led by 22 thought leaders, who delivered insightful and in-depth perspectives and solutions to inspire and equip market leaders ready to drive the digital transformation within their respective organizations, ultimately driving the enhancement of industries and the economy.

One of the keynote speakers and Managing Director of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Saudi Arabia, Dr. Khaled Al-Dhaher, commented on the event: “Saudi Arabia is rapidly moving towards a digital economy and as long-term strategic partners, we have a key role in driving innovation, facilitating knowledge transfer, and supporting businesses get ready for digital transformation. We believe in building a strong partner ecosystem wherein the combined efforts of members not only enhance industries but support boosting the economy as a whole.”

Over 750 representatives from leading public and private organizations attended the event and had access to keynote sessions, break-out discussions as well as demonstrations. The event also provided a platform to determine existing sentiment and efforts employed across market leaders through an on-site poll. The results indicated that a little more than half of the organizations represented through attendance have already set in motions plans for the digital transformation with a significant focus on Digital Enterprise and are investing in innovation.

The results also indicated that there is good traction in the development of Internet of Things (IoT) based projects, with approximately a quarter of the respondents having projects underway. More than half of the responses indicated that IoT is still an option to be considered or are yet to determine their strategies.

HPE continues to bring a wealth of global experience to the Saudi Arabian market. For more than 30 years, HPE has been the technology partner of choice for both public and private sectors in Saudi Arabia.

“Hosting Reimagine 2017 in Riyadh is part of our continuous efforts to build synergies with our customers and partners in Saudi Arabia and gives us an opportunity to further understand the local market to deliver solutions that meet the national growth agenda. The positive feedback we received from attendees reaffirmed the need for more engagement and collective thinking to support the further enhancement of the digital economy,” concluded Al-Dhaher.
