Kodak Alaris hosted a Partner Summit for more than 130 Value Added Resellers and Distributors from the Europe, Africa and the Middle East region in early February in Lisbon, Portugal. Channel partners from across the region attended the two-day kickoff event, which was a clear demonstration of Kodak Alaris’ commitment to its partners as the primary vehicle for delivering information management solutions that simplify and improve the way customers work.

“In this age of ‘data chaos’, we see tremendous opportunities to help customers accelerate digital transformation, remove complexity and unlock the power of information,” said Mr. Rick Costanzo, president and general manager, Kodak Alaris Information Management. “Our partners play a critical role. They are our extended team. Their efforts reflect directly on our bottom line. So it’s important to host these events and share our vision, strategy and product roadmap for 2017 and beyond.”

The summit included a mix of presentations by Kodak Alaris senior executives and sales teams, breakout sessions and technical workshops where delegates were given a recap of 2016 business results and a preview of sales and marketing initiatives designed to help partners ‘grow together’ with Kodak Alaris. There was also a series of demos where partners could ‘test drive’ the latest technologies.

In addition, Kodak Alaris hosted an awards ceremony as part of a gala event to recognize the achievements of its highest performing partners from the region. Kodak Alaris handed out 16 awards to partners in a variety of categories. Marc Jourlait, CEO of Kodak Alaris, made a special appearance to introduce himself and deliver a warm and inspiring welcome address.

One of the highlights of the event was the unveiling of the new and highly anticipated Alaris Partner Program that Kodak Alaris will be introducing this year. The Alaris partner program offers a number of new sales tools, incentives and technical resources designed to support partners and help them expand their businesses.

“Scansation is a longstanding Kodak Alaris partner and its existing partner program is probably the best amongst all of our suppliers,” said Sid Sutherland, Managing Director, Scansation. “The support we receive has always been fantastic and it’s great to know that Kodak Alaris is committed to making it even better.”

Attendees took time out for a fun-filled evening, driving GoCars through the streets of Lisbon, exploring the city in tuk-tuks and participating in a treasure hunt. “It was important to bring together our regional partners and deliver a first-class experience, from our gala award dinner, to sight-seeing in the beautiful city of Lisbon, to networking and aligning behind our vision and a common set of goals,” concluded Costanzo. “Based on the enthusiastic response from our partners, the event was a great success. We look forward to hosting it again next year.”

TP-Link Technologies has unveiled a new SMB Partner Programme for the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
The launch, which was held at Burj Al Arab in Dubai, saw more than 60 systems integrators (SIs) from the UAE market attend the event, where TP-Link outlined its go-to-market strategy, competitive advantage and, the company’s research and development (R&D) commitments.
According to the vendor which manufactures a broad range of products to the consumer, SOHO and SMB markets, including Wireless solution, ADSL, Routers, Switches, IP Cameras, Powerline Adapters, Print Servers, Media Converters and Network Adapters, the launch of the SMB Partner Programme paves the way for the company to recruit and develop a select number of SI partners who will resell its SMB products and solutions in the region.
Lucas Jiang, General Manager at TP-Link Middle East and Africa (MEA), said the launch of the SMB Partner Programme will see the company work closely with its distribution partners to identify and on board the right partners for the SMB business across the region.
Lucas added that TP-Link is seeking to recruit, train and certify new partners that will be tiered in three categories namely Authorised, Silver and Gold. “We are delighted to have finally unveiled a partner programme that will support the development of our SMB business in MEA,” he said. “We are hoping to replicate the success that TP-Link has enjoyed in the SOHO space.”
He explained that a key element of the programme is the training component and partners will be required to undergo training and get certified.
TP-Link is offering two certification programmes for sales, pre-sales and technical people.
According to the vendor, the sales and pre-sales training will see partners that get through the programme and pass an online exam get certified as a TP-Link Network Associate (TPNA).
On the technical front, partners that take their employees through the technical training initiative and pass the online exam will be recognised as a certified TP-Link Network Professional (TPNP).
Lucas explained that the partner tiers are linked to training and the company has already started the process of identifying SIs it would like to engage in the region. “We are looking for partners that are not doing business with us,” he said. “We have already created a dedicated partner portal, where interested partners can register to start the process. In addition, all the course materials to help partners prepare for the TPNA and TPNP certifications are already available online.”
He added that once a partner has been engaged, they will be guided on the training and certification paths.
According to Lucas, Gold partners will be expected to have two certified TPNA and one TPNP to maintain the partner tier in addition to agreed sales targets both in terms of volume and quality of projects implemented.
He added that Silver partners on the other hand, will be expected to have one certified TPNA in sales and another in pre-sales. “We have also developed a scheme that will incentive the individual (pre-sales, sales or technical staff) and rebates that will go to the SI that has achieve strong sales invested in training and is growing the share of the SMB business in the market,” he said.
Lucas added that the initial focus with the new programme will be in the GCC before extending the initiative to other countries in the broader MEA market. “We are upbeat the programme will offer the much needed support for our SIs to grow their share of business with our solutions in the SMB segment,” he said.

Sophos has announced a new partner program for resellers in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), to help channel partners achieve their growth objectives with competitive margins, dedicated marketing and sales support, deal registration protection, sales tools, training and certification and other programs.
The core objective of the Sophos partner program is to equip partners with resources and training that enable them to sell, market, distribute and implement the company’s award-winning cloud, network, server and enduser protection solutions to organizations of all sizes.

The new Sophos partner program provides access to the company’s comprehensive portfolio of market-leading endpoint and network security products, which have been engineered keeping its partners in mind. Partners are now able to manage all Sophos solutions for every customer through a centralized management platform, Sophos Central. Within Sophos Central is Sophos Central-Partner, a specialized dashboard that allows partners to distribute licenses, add new customers on demand, cross- and upsell services, drive recurring revenue and have a clear, real-time perspective on all customer activity. Partners can respond to security incidents faster and track alerts of all levels directly from the dashboard, so time spent handling incidents, including minor ones, is more productive and effective.

The Sophos Central-Partner dashboard integrates with Professional Service Automation (PSA) software, and partners’ can tie-in and customize Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) software from leading vendors to deploy and update Sophos agents locally.

This unlocks new avenues for all partners (Cyberoam and Sophos) to start selling abroad and powerful portfolio of IT security products allowing partners to deliver a “complete security” and a “synchronized security” solution to their customers. This partner program actively reflects Sophos’s commitment to help partners sell next-generation IT security technology to address today’s sophisticated threats. Partners have a great opportunity to grow their business by making the most of the demand for advanced IT security solutionsand alsoexploring the clear upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing customers.

“We realize there is tremendous diversity when it comes to selling approaches adopted by our security partners in the Middle East and Africa. We have developed our MEA Partner Program with feedback from our distributors and resellers and this collaboration has resulted in the introduction of a four-Level partner program that reflects our deep commitment towards partner engagement and their growth. This program will also bring Cyberoam and Sophos partners intoone program which is more efficient for our partners,” said Harish Chib, Vice President Middle East and Africa, Sophos. Commenting on Sophos’s channel first strategy he further added, “Sophos is the most channel/partner-focused IT security company in the world and sells exclusively through its channel of more than 20,000 resellers worldwide and is dedicated to the growth and success of partners. As part of the new program and Sophos’ “channel first, channel only” business strategy, the company offers partners sales consulting training and certification, co-branded marketing assets, 24/7 support and in-depth Sophos Central dashboard training to help build the skills and expertise of its partners.”

The new partner program consists of four levels (Authorized Entry Level, Silver, Gold and Platinum) based on sales performance each level increases in commitment to selling Sophos products and value delivered to customers.
