WD is participating along with key surveillance partners at the region’s largest trade exhibition for the security and safety industries

WD a Western Digital company and storage industry leader, is participating at INTERSEC 2015 taking place from 18th – 20th January at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, alongside partners, to showcase its range of high capacity WD Purple hard drives, which are designed for HD surveillance applications.
WD Purple hard drives offer up to 6TB of capacity and are engineered for 24/7 always-on surveillance in high-definition surveillance systems that use up to eight hard drives and up to 32 cameras. WD Purple drives feature IntelliPower and AllFrame technologies, which deliver premium reliability and peace-of-mind when installing in homes or small- to medium-size business security systems.
AllFrame technology works with ATA streaming to reduce frame loss, improve playback and increase the number of drive bays supported in a surveillance system. Moreover, AllFrame reduces video interruptions that commonly occur when desktop hard drives are incorrectly used in security systems.
“Digital surveillance systems equipped with HD cameras put their analog counterparts to shame. With digital systems, an end user can count on razor sharp footage. However, these systems can only deliver the best results when paired with surveillance hard drives such as WD Purple,” said Khwaja Saifuddin, Senior Sales Director, Middle East, Africa & India at WD. “Over the past year, we have witnessed phenomenal demand for our WD Purple drives from individuals and property owners, as well as from leading public and private sector organizations. This is a testament to the class-leading performance and reliability that our drives offer.”
Digital surveillance systems are rapidly replacing analog systems in the region. These systems feature HD cameras and are able to capture footage in high resolution, making it easier to identify critical details when reviewing footage. “Since digital systems are increasingly being sold without storage, the choice of what to buy falls to the customer. It’s for this reason that WD introduced its surveillance class hard drives and made them easy to remember by simply giving them a colour – WD Purple,” added Saifuddin.
WD will be present along with its surveillance partners Hikvision Digital Technology, WatchNET International Trading and Nirsun Technology. Intersec is the region’s largest and most comprehensive trade exhibition for the security and safety industries.
