Forcepoint Strengthens Enterprise Data Security for the AI-Driven Digital Age
Exclusive interview with Samer Diya, Forcepoint META VP
What key areas is Forcepoint currently prioritizing, and in what ways do your solutions support organizations in addressing the complexities of cyber threats?
The ongoing digital and AI transformation has only accentuated the reality that data security is a business imperative today. Today, people are working from anywhere with data everywhere, which is why our mission at Forcepoint is to truly enable “Data Security Everywhere” to unify security management and make it easier to protect data wherever it resides – and wherever people work. Data Security Everywhere is a unified lifecycle approach to securing data, which not only simplifies security but strengthens compliance. This allows for tighter integration, fewer gaps and improved visibility – which we all know is essential when managing complex environments.
Can you share insights on Forcepoint’s latest offerings that were showcased at GITEX Global and how these innovations address the current cybersecurity challenges faced by businesses?
At GITEX Global 2024, we showcased our recently introduced Forcepoint GenAI Security solution, which helps businesses use GenAI safely while protecting sensitive data. This solution offers visibility, control and risk-based data protection across GenAI platforms, including integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise Compliance API. The solution brings together our SSE capabilities like SWG and CASB alongside the information protection capabilities in Forcepoint ONE Data Security (cloud-native DLP) and Forcepoint DSPM to empower teams in the AI era.
How does Forcepoint leverage AI and automation in its solutions to provide faster, more adaptive cybersecurity measures?
We are taking the reins on the AI revolution in cybersecurity, leveraging AI to enhance our data security offerings and keep pace with the changing digital world. Our DSPM solution is powered by our proprietary AI Mesh technology to increase the speed and accuracy of data discovery, classification, risk assessment and mitigation – ensuring confidential data remains protected even when used in LLMs. This allows customers to identify how and why their employees are using GenAI tools like ChatGPT, prioritizing innovation while keeping data safe from potential threat actors.
Looking towards the future, what major cybersecurity trends do you see emerging, and how is Forcepoint positioning itself to stay ahead of these changes?
As businesses continue to navigate through the digital and AI transformation, the core mandate of ensuring data security everywhere within an organization must remain top priority. Industries are laser-focused on AI (and rightfully so) and will be for quite some time. We foresee the META region taking a strong step forward to lead these advancements in the coming years, driven by significant investments in digital transformation and a strong focus on data security.
