Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and DHL strengthen export readiness of Dubai manufacturers

Published

on

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), through its Export Assistance Programme (EAP), has collaborated with global logistics specialists DHL to deliver an exclusive workshop over 50 manufacturers, equipping Dubai-based manufacturers with practical resources to strengthen their export readiness and compete in international markets.

Led by DHL experts, the session provided participating manufacturers with insights into global logistics, supply chain planning and international connectivity, helping them navigate the realities of scaling into regional and international markets with greater confidence.

The workshop represented an activation of the strategic partnership between DET and DHL announced during Make it in the Emirates 2026 in May. Through the partnership, eligible EAP members can access preferential shipping rates, customised logistics solutions and end-to-end supply chain support designed to reduce the cost and complexity of exporting from Dubai.

Mohamed Al Marzooqi‎, Acting Associate Vice President, Manufacturing & Exports Development‎ at the Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC), the economic development arm of DET, said: “Dubai’s manufacturers are well-positioned to compete globally, and our focus is on translating strategic partnerships into practical support that helps them realise this potential. By bringing DHL’s expertise directly to Export Assistance Programme members, this workshop enables businesses to make more informed logistics decisions and approach international expansion with increased confidence. It reflects our commitment to equipping Dubai-based manufacturers with the capabilities and connections they need to scale internationally and contribute to the ambitions of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.”

Mahmoud Haj Hussein, Managing Director, DHL Express UAE, said: “Dubai’s manufacturers have strong potential to grow beyond the UAE. Through our partnership with DET, we are combining DHL Express’ global network and cross-border expertise with practical support to help businesses simplify international trade, reach new customers and expand confidently into global markets.”

Viktoria Lebedeva, Head of Sales & Marketing, DHL Global Forwarding UAE, said:”Dubai manufacturers have significant opportunities to expand into global markets, but international growth requires more than access to transportation. Rising landed costs and longer lead times are putting pressure on their margins, and the answer is rarely one mode of transport. By combining air, ocean and road freight around each company’s cost and speed priorities, and by pairing our global network with local expertise, we help manufacturers build supply chains that carry their long-term international ambitions. Our partnership with DET brings that thinking directly to Dubai’s manufacturing community.”

The initiative supports the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, including the goal of more than doubling manufacturing value-added output in the decade up to 2033. Dubai’s manufacturing and export landscape continues to benefit from modern infrastructure, advanced production capability and a growing network of Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPAs) connecting local manufacturers directly to global supply chains.

By reducing barriers to international trade and improving access to logistics expertise, DET aims to enable more Dubai-based businesses to access new opportunities, scale globally and reinforce the emirate’s position as a leading hub for trade, manufacturing and enterprise growth.

Through EAP, DET continues to connect manufacturers and exporters with services that address real market needs, from logistics and supply chain support to export finance and credit protection. The programme helps businesses manage export-related risks, strengthen their competitiveness and enter new or high-potential markets with greater confidence.

DORCHESTER COLLECTION’S THE LANA CELEBRATES LANDMARK GLOBAL RECOGNITION

Published

on

Dorchester Collection’s The Lana continues to strengthen its position on the global hospitality stage with a series of prestigious international accolades. The hotel has been elevated from One to Two MICHELIN Keys in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide hotel selection and named No. 1 in Top Hotels in the Middle East by Condé Nast Traveler US, alongside a No. 9 ranking from Condé Nast Traveller UK. Further reinforcing the property’s culinary credentials, Jara by Martín Berasategui and Riviera by Jean Imbert have both retained their places in the MICHELIN Guide for the coming year.

The latest distinctions mark another significant chapter for The Lana, which opened in February 2024 as Dorchester Collection’s first hotel in the Middle East and has since established itself as one of Dubai’s leading contemporary luxury addresses.

TWO MICHELIN KEYS FOR THE LANA

In the newly announced 2026 MICHELIN Key selection, The Lana has been elevated from One to Two MICHELIN Keys, placing the hotel among a select group of properties recognised by the MICHELIN Guide for delivering an exceptional stay.

The MICHELIN Key distinction is awarded following anonymous and independent inspections and evaluates hotels across criteria including architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, personality and character, value for the experience and the property’s contribution to its destination. The 2026 global selection encompasses 2,832 MICHELIN Key hotels, of which only 657 hold Two Keys.

The elevation reflects The Lana’s continued evolution since opening, combining Dorchester Collection’s longstanding approach to service with a distinctly Dubai identity.

The Lana’s culinary offering also continues to earn recognition, with Jara by Martín Berasategui and Riviera by Jean Imbert both retaining their places in the MICHELIN Guide for the coming year. Together, the distinctions reinforce the hotel’s standing across both luxury hospitality and dining.

RECOGNISED BY CONDÉ NAST TRAVELLER READERS

Further strengthening its international recognition, The Lana has also been celebrated in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards 2026, achieving prominent rankings across both editions of the publication.

The hotel was ranked:

  • No. 1 in Top Hotels in the Middle East by Condé Nast Traveler US
  • No.9 by Condé Nast Traveller UK

Voted for by readers, the annual awards recognise the hotels, resorts and travel experiences that have made the greatest impression on travellers around the world.

Together, the accolades underline The Lana’s growing international appeal and the strength of Dubai’s position within the global luxury hospitality landscape.

Rising above Marasi Bay Marina with sweeping views towards the Burj Khalifa, The Lana combines architecture by Foster + Partners with interiors by Parisian design duo Gilles & Boissier. Its 225 rooms and suites are characterised by generous space, natural light and contemporary design informed by the spirit of Dubai. Dorchester Media Centre

The hotel is also home to an extensive culinary offering, including Riviera by Jean Imbert, Jara by Martín Berasategui and Bonbon Café by Angelo Musa, alongside rooftop destination High Society. Its wellness offering includes Dior Spa The Lana, while the rooftop infinity pool offers panoramic views across Dubai’s skyline. Dorchester Collection

Since opening, The Lana has continued to build its international profile. In 2025, it was named No.35 in The World’s 50 Best Hotels, further establishing the property within the global luxury travel landscape.

“To see The Lana recognised by both MICHELIN and the readers of Condé Nast Traveller is an extraordinary honour for our entire team. These accolades are especially meaningful as they reflect both the experience assessed by leading industry authorities and the impressions of travellers themselves. Since opening The Lana, our ambition has been to create a hotel that feels unmistakably part of Dubai while carrying forward Dorchester Collection’s legacy of exceptional hospitality. We are incredibly proud to see that vision resonating internationally.” Richard Alexander, General Manager, The Lana
