Arrow Electronics to showcase Next-Gen Hyper-Converged Infrastructure at GITEX

Published

on

Arrow Electronics will showcase a range of next-generation hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), flash storage, software-defined infrastructure, and advanced security solutions from leading technology vendors at the upcoming edition of the GITEX Technology Week. Research indicates that the HCI market is emerging as one of the fastest growing and most valuable technology segments in the industry. In fact, the International Data Corporation expects new data centre investments will leverage converged or hyper-converged infrastructures to support both public and private cloud deployments across the Middle East and Africa market, with a forecast growth rate of 12 percent in 2016.

“We continue to see the HCI approach garnering attention of IT leaders and business stakeholders as they strive to transform data centre infrastructure into a more agile, scalable, and predictable platform, while operating under budget and resource constraints to meet ever-changing business requirements,” said Vimal Kocher, managing director for the Middle East region of Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business. “In addition to the assessment study, we will also be hosting a series of technical workshops, lunch-and-learns, and cost-and-benefit analysis sessions at the in-house lab and Proof-of-Concept Solution Centre at the Arrow Dubai office in the coming months. We aim to provide consultative advices and practical solutions to help customers and partners realise transformative benefits delivered by HCI in addressing many IT challenges.”

Designed as a hybrid and agile IT infrastructure, HCI employs software-defined technology to integrate compute, storage, networking and virtualisation resources into one centrally managed console, or cluster. HCI creates a pool of unified virtual infrastructure that can be shared by multiple applications and lines of business, allowing for dynamic scaling and reduced complexity and fragmentation. HCI can also improve backup and recovery capability. The financial benefits of HCI include not only savings on capital expenditures but also lower total cost of ownership and operational expenses.

Among the innovative technology solutions on display at Arrow’s booth (Hall 2, G2-1) will be Dell EMC hyper-converged appliance VxRail™ and its industry-leading flash products. “Based on VMware’s vSphere and Virtual SAN, and Dell EMC software, VxRail is the only integrated, preconfigured, and pre-tested VMware hyper-converged infrastructure appliance on the market. VxRail enables faster, better, and simpler management of consolidated workloads, virtual desktops, business-critical applications, and remote office infrastructure. It provides a predictable and scalable path to an automated, software-defined infrastructure environment,” said Havier Haddad, Channel & Alliance director for Turkey, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa of Dell EMC.

More than 30 technology specialists from Check Point, Dell EMC, F5, Forcepoint, Intel Security, Netscout, RSA, and Trend Micro will join a team of Arrow’s business solution consultants at the GITEX Technology Week to provide insights to solution providers and enterprises on emerging trends including virtualisation, software-driven infrastructures, and clouding computing, to name a few.

Arrow will also launch a study to help enterprises evaluate their current data centre capability, and assess which HCI solutions and best practices can help them transform their data centres to meet complex business needs in the digital economy.

TXOne Networks GITEX

This year at GITEX, TXOne Networks will showcase its groundbreaking OT defence framework designed to protect mission-critical assets across industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, and critical infrastructure.

Visitors to TXOne Networks’ stand (H24-D70, Hall 24) will experience the innovative SageOne Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) protection platform, along with a significant update to the Edge product line. The integration of AI into the Edge solutions simplifies security configuration, reducing setup time while enhancing threat detection accuracy with fewer false positives. In addition to product demonstrations, TXOne’s Chief Revenue Officer, Stephen Driggers, will participate in the “AI, OT & IoT Critical Infrastructure Leaders Panel” on October 15th, discussing the critical role of AI in OT and IoT security.

With a focus on bridging the divide between IT and OT teams, TXOne’s theme for GITEX 2024, “Keep the Operation Running”, emphasizes the importance of operational continuity in OT environments. As industrial networks become more interconnected with IT, new challenges have emerged. In a recent report by Cisco, 41% of firms’ IT and OT teams work independently on cybersecurity efforts. However, 92% of executive leaders believe that a unified solution would dramatically improve security postures—a critical need that TXOne’s solutions directly address.

“As the lines between IT and OT networks continue to blur, a holistic approach to cybersecurity solutions is essential to integrate both systems, enabling organizations to proactively manage threats and ensure operational resilience. We are proud to lead the charge in fostering collaboration between these traditionally siloed teams,” said Dr. Terence Liu, Chief Executive Officer of TXOne Networks.

In the past year, TXOne has experienced significant revenue growth, driven by key customer wins. The company has also received industry recognition, including acknowledgment from Frost & Sullivan for its achievements in IT/OT network protection. TXOne Networks has expanded its presence in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), establishing teams in key markets such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and South Africa, with plans to enter additional markets, including Iraq and Nigeria.

GITEX UAE AI

The global surge in Artificial Intelligence (AI) investments propelled by the increased demand in rising digital industries, from digital health and future finance to cybersecurity and public services, has ignited a race among businesses to secure specialized talents, sustain the relentless pace of their tech innovations, and their position among the early adopters of AI. Goldman Sachs research has forecasted that global investment into AI could reach $200 billion by 2025, while Bloomberg reported that the generative AI alone could have a $1.3 trillion market value by 2032.

This growth is driven by a widespread acknowledgement amongst global leaders that AI solutions are an increasingly vital tool for driving enhanced productivity and higher growth. As Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Abu Dhabi-based AI enterprise Presight, recently told the GITEX Tech Waves podcast: “Today you’ll see companies applying AI and AI evolving – in five, ten years’ time, it will get smarter, and when it gets smarter, you’ll get more efficiency and shorter routes to answers for difficult and complex questions. In return, that will be to the betterment of society and the world we live in.”

Such as Presight, over 3,500 of the world’s most prestigious brands investing in AI solutions will converge at the Dubai World Trade Centre, from 14-18 October, for the world’s largest tech and start-up event, GITEX GLOBAL 2024. The powerhouse exhibition and conference will bring together the biggest tech community in the world, from experts, founders, and investors to government leaders and senior executives, to showcase their breakthrough AI technologies, discuss mutual synergies, and forge key collaborations to catalyze future advancements in the industry.

The landmark event will spotlight the opportunities and challenges surrounding the AI global economy, including ethical development, quantum computing, large language models (LLM), policies and regulations, real implications of AI in edtech, health, and finance, and the future of work and employment. The rapid AI emergence still impacts the job market according to recent studies. In 2022, Deloitte estimated that there were only 22,000 AI specialists in the world while, last year, it was predicted that only half of all AI-related jobs could be filled.

UAE’s Bold Steps in Creating the World’s Future AI Economy

Leapfrogging several global markets, the response of the UAE, which has been increasingly successful as a global hub for the AI industry, consists of a robust long-term government agenda to harness the full potential of AI to empower individuals, communities, and organisations. Aligned with the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence and a clear vision to become the world leader in AI by 2031, the country has invested in integrating AI into public services, energy, tourism, and education.

In Dubai, the leadership has shown profound commitment to making the emirate the world’s fastest, most agile, and future-ready city by launching the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence. This highly strategic annual plan aims to accelerate the adoption of AI applications, looking at achieving the targets of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 by adding AED 100 billion, 27.2 billion dollars, yearly to the emirate’s economy and boosting productivity by 50 per cent through the adoption of digital solutions.

GITEX GLOBAL 2024: A Powerful Platform for AI Experts and Leaders

As the world’s largest tech and start-up event, GITEX GLOBAL is firmly aligned with the widely recognized UAE AI-driven economy, with Dubai as the fastest-growing international hub for AI experts, leaders, academics, and top voices in the industry.
