Temu Joins Anti-Phishing Working Group to Combat Online Fraud and Cyber Scams

Temu has announced its membership in the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG), a global coalition committed to fighting identity theft and online fraud. Temu now stands alongside tech industry giants like Microsoft and Meta in the battle against phishing and cybercrimes.

Founded in 2003, APWG brings together efforts from leading tech companies, financial institutions such as PayPal, top cybersecurity firms including Symantec and McAfee, and governmental agencies to tackle cybercrime. This collaboration involves exchanging data, conducting research, and launching public awareness campaigns. Phishing, a widespread cybercrime, seeks to illicitly gather sensitive information through deceptive communication channels.

In 2023, APWG documented nearly five million phishing attacks worldwide, a record high that underscores the growing threat.

Through its APWG membership, Temu brings its valuable experience in safeguarding customer data and thwarting impersonation efforts. It also gains access to a wealth of knowledge, including insights into the latest trends in global online threats, details about phishing URLs and emails, and information on malicious IPs and domains. This enhances its capability to better protect its customers. By leveraging a diverse membership that spans various industries and backgrounds, Temu is poised to develop and implement innovative solutions to effectively counter phishing and cybercrime.

Temu’s decision to join APWG is part of its ongoing effort to provide a secure shopping environment for its customers. The platform has experienced significant growth since its inception in the US, and now caters to 53 markets worldwide.

In February, Temu was awarded the Mobile Application Security Assessment (MASA) certification by DEKRA, the world’s leading independent testing organization. This certification highlights Temu’s commitment to enhancing user privacy and security. In November, the platform partnered with the San Francisco-based cybersecurity firm HackerOne to launch a bug bounty program, encouraging ethical hackers to find and report security vulnerabilities. Furthermore, Temu has strengthened login security for its users by implementing multi-factor authentication.

BOLT EXPANDS INTO THE UAE CAPITAL

Dubai Taxi Company PJSC (“DTC”), the leading provider of mobility services in Dubai, and its strategic partner Bolt today announced the entry of Bolt’s ride-hailing services in Abu Dhabi, marking a significant step in the partnership’s expansion across the UAE.

The expansion builds on strong e-hailing momentum across the DTC–Bolt strategic partnership. In 2025, DTC reported a 24% year-on-year increase in e-hailing activity across its taxi and limousine segments, supported by continued fleet expansion and growing customer adoption of digital booking channels.

Bolt will initially launch limousine services where customers in Abu Dhabi will be able to access ride-hailing services backed by a huge network of fleet owners, drivers, and vehicles. This will be followed by taxi services in weeks to follow.

That momentum carried into Q1 2026, with e-hailing activity rising a further 9% year-on-year, reflecting the continued resilience of app-based mobility and the long-term growth potential of digital transport services in the UAE.

The expansion also relies on the partnership’s growth in Dubai, where Q1 2026 saw the integration of 1,823 National Taxi vehicles into the Bolt platform. Broadening Bolt’s UAE footprint and strengthens its role in supporting the country’s evolving ecosystem, shaping how residents, visitors, and businesses move across cities.

Driven by this high demand, Bolt expansion into Abu Dhabi reinforces DTC’s commitment to delivering more accessible mobility solutions for residents, visitors, and businesses nationwide, and support the UAE’s wider shift toward smart mobility.
