The Mahalabia Malai Shawarma – AED 49
Dubai’s first dessert-inspired shawarma takes center stage with its creamy, aromatic notes reminiscent of the beloved Middle Eastern dessert. The Permit Room’s first-ever creation that lets shawarma lovers taste and connect the dots between nostalgia and innovation. It’s indulgent. It’s unexpected.
The Black Lime Lamb Shawarma – AED 49
Majboos-inspired. Powered by Gulf black lime. Wrapped in pure flavour. Think deep, tangy, warm spices fused with slow-cooked lamb- a full-on flavour knockout.
The Emirati Fish Shawarma – AED 49
A Dubai Creek & coastal spice story in a single bite. Fresh, flaky fish meets coastal Emirati flavours- bold, rooted, and unlike anything the city has seen before.
The Jackfruit Majboos Shawarma – AED 39
A plant-based masterpiece layered with cosy majboos spices and tender jackfruit. A tribute to UAE’s warm flavours- soulful, nostalgic, and Dubai’s newest vegan icon.
Eid Al Etihad Shawarma Platter – AED 54
Want to try them all? The Permit Room is rolling out a Shawarma Platter (AED 54) for UAE’s 54th National Day: the perfect sampler for anyone who can’t pick a side in this flavour showdown.
Why is this a must try?
Because this drop is everything the city loves: Bold. Creative. Culture-rich. And absolutely social-media-ready.
We’ve seen charcoal ice creams, gold burgers, and lotus everything, but Mahalabia Shawarma and Jackfruit Majboos take the fusion game to a whole new level.
So consider this your foodie alert: Don’t miss the action. Don’t miss the flavours. And definitely don’t miss the shawarmas everyone will be talking about all week.

ROHINI Celebrates Holi with Colourful, Contemporary Thandai Creations

The festival of Holi is all about colour, music and good vibes, and Rohini at Mövenpick JLT is bringing that energy straight to your glass. From 2 to 8 March, the restaurant is serving Rang, Ras aur Thandai Holi, a limited-time beverage special inspired by the playful spirit of the festival, giving Dubai diners a fun way to celebrate through flavour.
Drawing on nostalgic flavours, the traditional thandai is deconstructed with a fresh, contemporary edge that fits naturally into Dubai’s modern dining scene. The seasonal drinks keep the familiarity guests love while introducing lighter, more current flavour combinations, giving guests the green energy this season calls for
The menu features two flavour profiles. One leans into classic Kesar Pista and Badam notes, while the other takes a more experimental direction with a Matcha Moringa twist for a clean, modern flavour. Served as cocktail and mocktail options, the drinks balance tradition with a playful upgrade, capturing the celebratory mood Holi is known for.
Rohini continues to stand out as a go-to destination for contemporary Indian dining in Dubai, with its Holi special bringing together familiar flavours and a nostalgic festive touch for guests to enjoy throughout the week.
